Western Europe: Bridge to the World
We often use the metaphor of a bridge to describe the ministry context in which we serve. In fact, most every people group of the world can be found in Western Europe. In that sense, working with the peoples of Western Europe truly creates a bridge to the entire world.
The Vast Diversity of Western Europe
- Four of the top 10 least religious countries in the entire world are located here (three of those countries being in Scandinavia)
- The church in Western Europe has declined so rapidly in recent years that people often describe themselves as “post-Christian”
- The fastest-growing religion in Western European countries is Islam
- The majority of the indigenous peoples have a postmodern worldview
