Hands On: ESL (Portugal) Student individuals, team members and team leaders must be active members of a Southern Baptist church to participate on this project. Students will teach English to people of a variety of ethnic, social and economic backgrounds. Classes currently taught at study tables at university. We hope to expand this to other campuses and settings around the city. Students are enlisted by advertising and word-of-mouth. Knowledge of English provides open doors for better education and jobs. Meeting this felt need opens doors of relationship, which give opportunities to share about Christ. Persons in this job need good people skills. |

There is a program that allows students to come as a "visiting student," where you are enrolled in university classes and can live in a university dorm. You will be able to interact with students on a continual basis. Our vision is that the students would take the gospel back to their hometowns, many of which have little or no evangelical witness.
