Your Prayers Matter
I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.
— Matthew 21:21, 22
Most Western Europeans are a closed people and do not open up freely. They feel that spiritual matters are a very private thing. Would you pray that the windows of Western European hearts and minds would be open to receive the Gospel message? Pray that Gods Holy Spirit will have free reign in their lives and that they will come to know the Truth. Pray that through Gods Word, the JESUS film, dreams and visions, and the testimonies of believers, many lost souls will come to saving faith in Jesus Christ.
Western Europeans are imprisoned by numerous strongholds of Satan, many of which target their thoughts and minds. In 2 Corinthians 10, Paul writes, For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. Will you pray that the following strongholds of Satan will be demolished as Western Europeans come to know the Truth of Jesus Christ?
- humanistic education
- dependence on material comfort
- pagan traditions
- a sense of futility
- depression and suicide
- sexual promiscuity
- dependence on drugs, alcohol and tobacco
Intercede for refugees and immigrants living in Western Europe, many of whom are from countries closed to the Gospel. These are unreached people groups now living within Western European borders. The majority have fled their homelands, seeking economic, political and religious asylum. Many are at a point in their lives where they are very open to the truth of the Gospel message. Pray that Gods Holy Spirit would speak to them about their need for Jesus as their Lord and Savior — and that they would respond in faith.
