Divine intervention

“So I tell you to believe that you have received the things you ask for in prayer, and God will give them to you.”
Mark 11:24 (NCV)

We live in a gateway city of Europe where immigrants and refugees come to begin a new life. Many come from lands where they have had no religious freedom. Some come to study or to work; others are fleeing persecution. In areas where we see satellite dishes on buildings, we will find a diversity of people from other lands. We prayerwalk these areas regularly, asking God to show us a person of peace, someone in need, or a place where we can minister.

We felt led to prayerwalk in a certain community. As we walked, we prayed that God would lead us to a person searching for Him.

The temperature grew colder, the wind blew harder and it began to rain. We continued to walk because we were still waiting for God to show us the person who needed Him. Not many people were out, because of the weather.

Then we saw a man who was picking up clothing for the Red Cross. While talking with him, he told us that he was searching for God. God answered our prayers! We told this man that our meeting was no coincidence, but rather God’s divine intervention. When we offered to study God’s Word with him, he agreed.

A few days later, we met for our first Bible study. His search for God continues, and each day he moves a step closer to knowing God personally.

Sometimes we are so surprised when God answers our prayers, yet He delights in giving us the desires of our hearts.

Thank You, Lord, for keeping missionaries faithful to pray and walk the areas You indicate. Thank You for answering these prayers. Give me a burden to pray while I work through my office, school, home or community today. Amen.
